Social Networking for Senior Living
The CaringFamily Connections Service is a social networking system for facility residents where family communicates with Internet based tools and residents use paper. Messages from family and friends are created electronically and delivered as paper messages. Messages from residents to family and friends start as paper and are delivered via e-mail.
Facilities provide the CaringFamily service to residents, their families and friends. Research has shown that it is very effective when used at Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living facilities as well as Continuing Care Communties. It is also very effective in Memory Care Units.
The CaringFamily system:
- safe – only registered family and friends can use the system
- easy – residents use paper and family uses the web, e-mail, cell-phones, etc.
- supports facility activities – holiday and birthday parties
- brings family and friends together – family can share photos and news
